Shandong province is advancing the development of the silver economy through smart elder care, health monitoring, and age-friendly services to meet the growing needs of an aging population with innovation and compassion.

In the Caojiawangzhuang community in Linyi city, a blue digital screen at the community center provides real-time health data, such as blood pressure and heart rate, for seniors over 60. "The data comes from wearable smart wristbands," said Li Ping, director of the community's administrative office. "Our model combines screen monitoring and wristband alerts to create a complete smart care loop."

Lanshan has integrated eldercare resources and subsidy management into a unified smart platform, covering over 240,000 seniors and linking 21 nursing homes, 81 canteens, and 55 daycare centers, improving service efficiency in healthcare, rehabilitation, and living support.

In Yanggu county, Liaocheng city, a 65-year-old villager recovering from years of immobility praised the county's home-based eldercare beds. These beds, designed for disabled seniors, offer specialized in-home care, fulfilling the goal to "age in place". The county has completed over 600 such retrofits, providing 27,000 visits with full-service tracking through a digital platform.

In Ningyang county, Tai'an, a mobile "happiness station" vehicle brings bathing and grooming services to rural seniors. "It solved our bathing issues," said villager Zhao Jun. Since April, the vehicle has reached 15 townships and served over 400 elders.

In Chiping district, Liaocheng, a local elderly center combines medical and nursing services, with a capacity of 4,889 beds and over 90 percent occupancy.
